The hotel had incredible history involved in it and there is little opportunity to stay in a place so filled with that sense of being in an 1800 palace. The owners did a very good job in creating a hotel out of it - lots of relaxation areas.
The turret rooms have nice sizeable bathrooms - the others are cramped feeling.
Location, staff, rooms all are excellent
The location, services and staff exceeded our expectations. We would love to return! Highly recommend this property! Best hotel stay we've ever had.
Food - both quality, quantity and taste were outstanding.
The room was a disappointment for $900 per night. it was smelling bad, dingy with no windows. Everything about Brij Rama palace is overpriced for the value offered. In fact the Ganga was so unclean right in front of the Hotel, that it was hard to associate anything clean with the stay.
The hotel is by far the most exotic and luxurious hotel on the Ganges and an excellent place to stay. The afternoon tea on the rooftop in the afternoon was excellent. The staff welcoming. Still it's very expensive so still trying to wrap my head around whether that much money is worth it.
Be careful with the type of room you choose. The rooms at the back are small and boxy and not for those who have claustrophobia. Mine was at the back had a number of faults, from the blinds not working to the toilet dripping. I was extremely unhappy as this should not happen in such a hotel, however the following night I was upgraded to their nicest room which made everything worth it.
Good location. Amazing staff. Good food
Duvet was dirty, old towel
This hotel is exceptional! The food and service are excellent and the location is perfect along the Ganges. The hotel provides all sorts of activities at no extra cost (yoga, musicians, dancers, pottery making, high tea). You will feel like you are back in time as a resident of a palace. The hotel staff go out of their way to make you feel special.
Everything was perfect.
Nothing can beat this location! Amazing staff, good breakfast and lunch. The view to the ganges are ❤️ The spa ladies are so nice!
The room are really small and overpriced! Brijrama can charge you this amount of money because of the location
Accessibility to everything of interest.Beautiful restoration of historic site.Exceptionally kind and able staff.Entertaining and informative activities included. Excellent chef and service
Amazing hotel ! Luxury immerse in the heart of Varanasi/ Ganges ! The activities offered by the hotel are also great and the staff is super kind and helpful (specially Ravi and Kushi)
The manger, Bhupesh was fantastic and pulled out all the stops. Rudresh was as a brilliant waiter, as was the rest of the staff. Breakfast was flawless, although dinner was hit and miss.
The dinner menu was hit and miss.
A truly wonderful stay offers an experience beyond compare. With everything provided, guests can fully relax and enjoy themselves. From delectable dining options to captivating entertainment, there's something for everyone. Every detail is carefully curated to create a seamless and unforgettable experience. The accommodations provide the utmost comfort and luxury. The staff's dedication to exceptional service enhances the overall experience. This creates lasting memories for every visitor. It's a destination that truly stands out.Would like to name few Pramodji from pick up to taking me around , Khushi at front desk , F&B manager and every single person who is working at this property is phenomenal. Palace turned hotel done with lots of care &precaution.
Transfer was a bit tricky though it was wonderful experience but hotel excess was a bit challenge
The location is good , Akhilesh the "Chef" was the best and food was magical.
but staff needs training, constantly got disturbed inspite of "DND" request. Rooms are very small compared to price but many activities withing the hotel so good.
The location is excellent! Close to ganga Arti and Kashi Vishwanath temple. The only thing is rooms and bathroom are REALLY small. And you feel clostorphobic. But it makes up by the warmth of staff and amazing hospitality. There was an issue with late check out. Hotel said they have no intimation from bookings.com but the front desk manager was too kind to accommodate. I highly recommend this property.
Excellent customer service and food . Chef Akhilesh has done a great job with a balanced and delicious menu sharing the Banaras flavours. Staff is very courteous and made our stay very memorable and comfortable.
It’s proximity to the Ganges makes it a superb destination. The interior and quality of the accommodation makes it probably one of the top hotels in India. It is located on the main Ghat which is where most people want to be. It is actually not reachable by road so the hotel takes care of all the mechanics of getting you and your luggage between for example airport, and the hotel. Varanasi is much larger than you would imagine and to have this organised is essential.
This is not really going to be a “dislike“ at all, but simply more information to qualify the “like“ section. All that recommendation above comes with a caveat. Personally, I found the attention from staff rather overwhelming, but then that’s probably down to me. I’m used to hotels where breakfast is a nice buffet but here, apart from cornflakes you had to place an order for almost everything. Don’t get me wrong, the staff were excellent but I was rather uncomfortable personally that my every move seemed to be scrutinised in the hope that they would ensure that it would be perfect. I splurged out on a suite which overlooked the river and this room was amazing, of course it had a very high price. But hey, you’re only going to be here one lifetime aren’t you? It also means that you can spend time in the room just looking through the windows at what is going on underneath you without having to wander in the blistering heat. The contrast between the smells, sites and noise outside and the calm cool and organisation of the Hotel cannot be understated
From the moment we were met from the Airport, through the bustle of Varanasi to the water taxi and entrance to this ancient place the staff were simply delightful, helpful and couldn’t do enough to make our visit one to remember for an entire lifetime and beyond. The service, the food was outstanding especially as a non vegetarian. Thank you
We had all the time in the world and not in any hurry at all, if I were to make one small niggle it would be the time spent waiting for menus, then drinks even food sometimes. Our 5 nights at the hotel were NOT SPOILT in anyway by this comment but others were.
